Similarly to many who enjoy working with yarn, Autumn is my favorite season. The combination of cooler weather, beautiful colors, and harvesting all lead me to work on my crochet/knitting projects more than in the summer months.
Last week I experimented with crocheting pumpkins and ended up with the following pattern. Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions!

Autumn Pumpkin Container
Materials:
*Size H (5mm) crochet hook
*Bulky-weight yarn of approx. 30yards orange, 5 yards each of green and brown (I used Sulka by Mirasol)
*Darning needle for weaving in ends
Abbreviations:
Chain: ch
Single Crochet: sc
Slip Stitch: sl st
Stitch: st
Round: Rnd
Note: All rounds are worked continuously; please do not join!
Instructions:
Base
Rnd 1: Using orange yarn, make a Magic Adjustable Ring
Ch1, then sc 6 into the magic ring (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2sc into each sc around (12 sc)
Rnd 3: *2 sc into first sc, 1 sc into next sc, around from* (18 sc)
Rnd 4: *2sc into first sc, 1 sc into next 2 sc, around from* (24 sc)
Rnd 5: *2sc into first sc, 1 sc into next 3 sc, around from* (30sc)
Rnd 6-11: sc into each sc around (30sc)
Rnd 12: sl st into each stitch around (30sl sts). Join with sl st into first sl st and fasten off.
Lid
Using brown yarn, make a Magic Adjustable Ring, ch 1, then sc 6 into the magic ring (6 sc)
Rnd 2-4: sc into each sc around (6 sc)
Rnd 5: 2 sc into each sc around (12 sc)
(Change to orange yarn now)
Rnd 6: *2sc into first sc, 1 sc into next sc, around from* (18 sc)
Rnd 7: *2sc into first sc, 1 sc into next 2 sc, around from* (24 sc)
Rnd 8: *2sc into first sc, 1 sc into next 3 sc around from* (30sc)
Rnd 9: sl st into each stitch around (30sl sts). Join with sl st into first sl st and fasten off.
Vine
Using green yarn, ch16
Starting with the second chain from hook, work 3 sc into each ch across
Fasten off
Weave in all ends, attach vine to lid and enjoy!
