Classes this Week - Friendship Bracelets, Hurdle-Stitch Scarf, and Beginning Knitting

Friendship Bracelets: Wednesday, September 25th, 2-3pm Fee: $5 includes all supplies
Instructor: Britton Donharl

During this class, students will learn how to make friendship bracelets in fun colors for a variety of skill levels. Beginners can start with simple 3 strand braiding; more advanced
students can learn hitches, half-hitches, and other knots to make more
complicated designs. Ages 5 and up welcome!



Hurdle-Stitch Scarf: Thursday, September 26th, 6-8pm
Fee: $30 includes one skein of Casablanca yarn  and one pattern (please bring 2 size #8 dpns, yarn needle for weaving in ends, and two point protectors)
Instructor: Stephanie Hagelburg
Skill level: advanced beginner
 
In this class you will learn:
1.how to deal with “tricky” yarn
2.tricks to keep track of where you are in a pattern
3.how to make very tidy edges
4.Elizabeth Zimmermann’s sewn bind off (not very bulky)
5.why finishing is the most important part of knitting
6.ergonomics of knitting
 
 
Beginning Knitting Class: Saturday, September 28th, 2-4 pm
Instructor: Katie Brousseau
Fee: $20 includes ALL supplies necessary to get you started knitting!
Description:
This beginning knitting class is for the absolute beginner! Participants will be introduced to the wonderful world of knitting with learning to cast on, the knit stitch, and bind off. We will also go over gauge and caring for hand-knits.
Ages 9 and up are welcome to participate; limit: 6
