Don't Be A Square, Learn to Knit, Afghan Knit-Along, Block Four - Tree Family - Tuesday

If you know how to knit and purl but are ready for the next step this KAL (Knit-Along) is for you. We will be joining Universal Yarn and Amy Gunderson for this KAL and you will have the added benefit of hands on help from Heidi. Feel free to jump in any time, we will help you catch up, or you can pick up the blocks you missed at the end.

I think this block would also make a great pair of fingerless mitts with just a few changes - if you are interested in this option just let me know.

Our new block is also lace with a good helping of stockinette, but it introduces one new stitch – the center double decrease.  You’ll slip two as if to knit, then knit a stitch, then pass those two slipped stitches over the stitch you just knit.  This is a way of reducing three stitches into just one.

Tuesday, 20 May, 5:30 - 7
Instructor - Heidi Narum
Fee - Free

Supplies-
At least 4 colors of Uptown worsted or other worsted weight yarn. Color combination ideas. 2 balls of each color.
Size 8 knitting needles (or size needed to get gauge)
Tapestry needle
Copy of the pattern available here.
Don't forget your previous blocks for show and tell!

Skill level
You need to know how to knit and purl.

No registration necessary.
