Turn a Square Hat - Get Started Workshop - Thursday
Turn a Square Hat - Get Started Workshop
Thursday, Dec. 12, 5-7pm
Instructor - Heidi Narum
Fee: Free
Come in and learn how to knit the popular Turn a Square Hat, a popular free pattern on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/turn-a-square) or Brooklyn Tweed - (http://brooklyntweed.net/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_4&products_id=13). This class is free, and the hat would make a great gift for a loved one or a donation to a charity.
Suggested Yarn: any worsted-weight such as Cascade 220
Needle size - 7
***We have a selection of free yarn to choose from for those knitting/crocheting these items for a charity, such as the Black Forest Fire Donation Drive***
A simple striped beanie pattern that plays with self-striping yarns and is perfect for using up worsted weight yarn scraps and practicing the jogless stripe technique.
I recommend using a solid or heathered yarn for the MC and a self-striping yarn for the CC (Noro or handspun both work lovely).
This hat utilizes raglan-style decreases at the crown which turn the stripes or ‘rings’ into diminishing square shapes on top of the head.
A simple, quick knit that is great for gifts and using up leftovers.
