Size: From 7" to 9" (18 to 23 cm) tall. Size will vary with yarn used and the amount of felting.
Yarn Requirements:
Choose a DK wt (8 ply) wool that will felt easily and firmly and a thick "fur-like" synthetic novelty yarn.
110 yds (101m) black wool;110 yds (101m) black novelty yarn;100 yds (91m) natural white wool (see Caution below);55 yards (50m) orange wool.
Penguin Hat & Scarf use small amounts and are designed to use up left over yarns.
Caution: Choose your yarns carefully. Many white wools will not felt at all, others do not felt well. Because you are using 3 different colors, you must use yarns that will felt at the same rate and that will not bleed onto each other. If you are using yarns other than those shown, it is very important to test felt a sample of your yarn.
Needles: 16" (40cm) circular and set of double pointed needles in US size 11 (8mm).
