Shooting Stars Class this Wednesday

Shooting Stars: Wednesday, March 20th; 1:30-3p.m.
Fee: $12 includes all supplies Instructor: Katie Brousseau

During this class, students will embellish and hand-stitch a star from wool felt. Ribbons will be added to create a tail—perfect for playing with and throwing outdoors!

Limit: 8 participants, k-6 welcome

Yarn of the Week: March 18th-23rd, 2013

This week's Yarn of the Week is Cotton Supreme and Cotton Supreme Batik from Universal Yarn. This is our go-to worsted-weight cotton. It is soft and does not fade like "dish-cloth" cotton, so it is perfect for warm-weather garments. It is also sturdy enough to be used for dish-cloths. One skein of Cotton Supreme or Cotton Supreme Batik is 197 yards--enough to make three generous-sized dishcloths. Below you may find links to some fun free patterns from Universal.

Does your kindergartener through sixth-grader need help with a crafting project, especially one that is fiber-oriented (knitting, crochet, embroidery, felting, sewing, etc.)? Or perhaps just some inspiration? The classroom at Warm Hearts Yarn will be dedicated to helping the budding fiber enthusiast during the above date and time. Katie, a co-owner of Warm Hearts Yarn and former elementary-teacher, will be available to help your child during this free open-studio time. Please bring your projects, questions and enthusiasm!
