Nuno Felting Class

Friday, October 4th, 5-7 pm and Saturday, October 5, 10 am - 1 pm
Fee: $60 includes all materials (silk chiffon base, fiber, embellishments)
Instructor: Anne Podlesak

Description:
Introduction to Nuno Felting:  Nuno felting creates gorgeous, lightweight felted fabrics by bonding thin layers of wool fibers to a silk chiffon base.  This versatile fabric can be embellished in all sorts of fun ways, and makes a beautiful soft fabric that can be used as a scarf or wrap by itself, or cut and sewn into other garments. This class will discuss techniques used to create nuno felt, as well as allowing class participants plenty of time to experiment and sample on their own scarf-sized project.  The class fee will cover all supplies necessary to create a one-of-a-kind scarf to take home with them.    Note: Please be aware this class requires repetitive use of the upper arms to achieve the felting process.  This is a wet felting technique, so class participants should wear clothing they will not mind getting potentially splashed with soapy water, and comfortable shoes, since some standing is involved.
(limit 4 participants)
